Susy Campos, President: Ms. Campos has over 12 years of experience in the grant writing and fundraising fields. A former Vice President of Randall Funding and Development, she has worked with a variety of clients across the United States. Previously she worked as a Project Officer at the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C. where her responsibilities included working in the areas of human rights, arbitration and cybercrime as well pursue grant funding for those projects. Over the course of her career she has secured tens of millions of dollars in funding for her clients. Ms. Campos has a master’s degree in International Relations and Political Theory from McMaster University and a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Moncton in New Brunswick, Canada. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Cheryn Wojcik, Vice President: Cheryn has 13 years of professional work experience in the public and private sectors where she has worked in grant writing, reporting, procurement and legal compliance. In addition to managing the accounting functions of the business, Cheryn also serves as a project manager and lead writer on proposal engagements and provides support to the grant writers. Prior to joining CGA, Cheryn served as the full-time Grants Director for the City of Springfield in Massachusetts where she oversaw a portfolio of over 400 active grant accounts worth more than $100 million in original awards. During this time she also researched potential funding opportunities, wrote and prepared competitive grant application packages and acted as a centralized resource for city departments. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School and a Bachelor in Arts in Communication from UMass Amherst. Cheryn is also an Adjunct Professor for American International College’s Master of Public Administration program.
Laura Rodman, Contract Grant Writer: Laura is a grant/proposal writer and former research scientist. Her expertise combines scientific and technical understanding with strong proposal writing skills. She has the analytical background and ability to understand complex programs or policy concepts and write about them clearly and persuasively. Laura has 25 years’ experience developing, writing, and editing proposals, white papers, and research publications. Specializing in proposal submissions to federal and state agencies, including NSF, NASA, the EPA, and the U.S. Departments of Energy, Education, Health and Human Services, Transportation, Labor, Agriculture, and Defense, Laura has written award-winning projects ranging from $50,000 to $3 million. Laura has an M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University, School of Engineering, and an S.B. in engineering from MIT. She has also studied geography and GIS at Sonoma State University.
Deirdre White, Contract Grant Writer: Deirdre is currently the President and CEO of CDC Development Solutions (CDS), a leading nonprofit focused on economic development and international corporate volunteerism serving emerging and frontier markets. She has 20 years of experience in international development that includes work with the public, private, nonprofit and government sectors. Having overseen international development and educational initiatives funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Union’s Technical Assistance to the CIS (TACIS) offices, Deirdre has working in programming as well as administration. An alumna of the University of Pennsylvania, Deirdre is a fluent speaker of Russian and is conversant in French and Spanish.
Susan Perri, Contract Grant Writer: Susan specializes in organizational development and revenue maximization for municipalities, school districts, and NGOs nationwide. With a decade of experience, she strives to improve the quality of life in communities across the country, and has been a pivotal part in earning over $30 Million in funded grant proposals and new programming in healthcare, education, and environmental conservation and sustainability. In addition to conducting the research and writing necessary to bring in funding for her clients, Susan also serves as a grant reviewer for U.S. Department of Education and Health & Human Services Administration for Children and Families. Susan has a B.A. in Health Studies from Goddard College, as well as an MPA with a certification in non-profit management from the University of Colorado.
John Izzo, Chair: Attorney Izzo is the Chair of the Advisory Board and was one of the original co-founders. He is a grant and business professional with 20 years of experience in grant writing and fundraising. John currently works as an Associate Director of Grants at the Boston Medical Center where he researches, writes and manages grant projects while working with hospital staff and community leaders. As a former President of Randall Funding and Development, he has worked with a variety of clients across the United States. John received his law degree from the Washington College of Law, American University and his Bachelor of Arts from Emory University. He is a board member of UR at Work, an Antioch-based non-profit that is implementing a highly successful, data driven Youth Intervention Network for at-risk youth.
Janelle Bourgeois: Ms. Bourgeois represents her profession on the Canadian Medical Association’s Assembly of Health Science Professionals. She also currently sits on the National Regulator Council which has a mandate to discuss and address national regulatory issues and trends. She has over 10 years of experience in Canadian healthcare field and five years of experience working with non-profits. In 2010, she helped develop the curriculum for the Medical Laboratory Assistant program at Oulton College in Moncton, NB. She remains a consultant for the program accreditation process and she is also an instructor at this facility. Currently, Ms. Bourgeois leads federally funded projects to attract and integrate internationally educated health professionals in Atlantic Canada. Janelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science. She is a certified active member of the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science and has a valid NBSMLT Professional Development certificate. She is presently completing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at University of Moncton in New Brunswick and she is fluent in both French and English.
Donovan Mouton: Mr. Mouton has more than 24 years of experience in sales, marketing, strategic planning, and implementing community & economic development solutions. Prior to joining Community Grants Associates Mr. Mouton was Program Director for One Economy Corporation where he helped to define, position, and sell community-based Broadband technology adoption and access solutions that impacted over 9,000 low-income households throughout the Midwest. Prior to that, Mr. Mouton held the Director of Urban Affairs and Public Advocacy position in the City of Kansas City, Missouri Mayor’s Office. Donovan also served as a chairman and member of the Affordable Housing Advisory Council of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, as wells as the Treasurer of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, City Planning Commissioner, YMCA of Greater Kansas City Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Mouton holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of Florida. In June 2002 he was honored along with 22 state and local government officials, with a Fannie Mae Foundation Fellowship to attend Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government program for senior executives.
Robert J. Silano: Mr. Silano has over 30 years of combined law enforcement and emergency management experience. Presently, Mr. Silano is the Chief of Threat Intelligence as a Senior Intelligence Analyst for the Department Emergency Management for the state of California, assigned to the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center in San Francisco, CA. The Northern California Regional Intelligence Center specializes in research involving the terrorism threat and emergency management situations as it relates to law enforcement, fire, public health, emergency services and the private industry. As a private safety professional, Rob has worked for two separate Fortune 100 and 1 Fortune 500 Companies, serving in various capacities within Emergency Management, Loss Prevention, Security Operations and Corporate Investigations. He is also President of Robert Silano Associates, Inc., a preeminent private security firm with a select clientele. Mr. Silano has held positions as a former City of Miami Police Officer, Task Force Commander, Police Instructor, Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent, and a Senior Manager with the U.S. Department of Justice, DEA. Mr. Silano holds a Baccalaureate and Master’s Degrees and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Class#158.
