Community Grants Associates is pleased to welcome Robert J. Silano as a new board member to our organization. As a public safety professional, Mr. Silano has over 30 years of combined law enforcement and emergency management experience. Presently, Mr. Silano is the Chief of Threat Intelligence as a Senior Intelligence Analyst for the Department Emergency Management for the state of California, assigned to the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center in San Francisco, CA. The Northern California Regional Intelligence Center specializes in research involving the terrorism threat and emergency management situations as it relates to law enforcement, fire, public health, emergency services and the private industry. This section supports the Regional FBI Terrorist Task Forces and the Department of Homeland Security Fusion Centers in providing analytical materials and research to these investigative sections.
As a private safety professional, Mr. Silano has worked for two separate Fortune 100 and 1 Fortune 500 Companies, serving in various capacities within Emergency Management, Loss Prevention, Security Operations and Corporate Investigations. He is also President of Robert Silano Associates, Inc., a preeminent private security firm with a select clientele.
In the past, Mr. Silano has had experience in domestic and international operations as a former U.S. Department of Justice Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Mr. Silano has held positions as a former City of Miami Police Officer, Task Force Commander, Police Instructor, Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent, and a Senior Manager with the U.S. Department of Justice, DEA. Mr. Silano holds a Baccalaureate and Master’s Degrees and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Class#158.
